Lost New Nose Stud?

I lost my nose stud down the sink. I have only had it for three weeks (it seems to have healed well so far, no redness or swelling and it's very clean), but fortunately I bought some studs for when it had healed. I've put on of them in, but it's Sterling Silver and I heard that leaves a mark if the piercing is unhealed, and it's really thin compared with the original stud I had in. Should I go back to the piercer and get another stud like the original one after Christmas?
