convince my dad to let me get my nose pierced

hi im 16 and im trying to convince my dad to let me get my nose pierced.. i just want a tiny stud.. but he thinks that im going to have a huge scar the rest of my life and people will judge me for it in the future and it will be harder to get the type of jobs i want in the future.. these are things im actually worried about..
if i do get it done is there anyway i could reduce scarring and is the scar really going to be that bad??
