Just on day a prist came to our house.He was our family priest.My father had some money problem so the priest tolb god might be sad.So they told to do worship at our village.The priest asked is there a daughter to you my father told no so the priest ask is there.He told we want to pierc the nose for the ritual.my mother told its not good for boys.My father told its ok.They both disccused a got ready.
One day they called priest to perform the worship.A lady piercer was also ther.They did worship and in between priest call me to him and cleanedmy nose.I was not knowing knowing about this act.My father brought the piercer and told to pierc the nose. I was shocked i was not knowing anything.I told what is happing.Then priest caught my hands.I was 14 years so tried to run. My father caught me.Priest caught my hands and father caught my head.They told piercer to pierc the nose.She took out a copper wire a candel and she heated it till became red hot and insearted it in my nose slowly ,it was to painful ias crying a lot.After 20 minutes piercing was over my nose was red ,really it was to painfull for me.They gave me a nose stud and told to wear it till 2 years.When i used to go out i used to remove it.And when i used to be at home i used to wear it.

my mom insisted me to pierce my nose i said ok so we went to goldsmith i sat in front of him my mom went to buy a stud for me .I marked the spot to be pierced then he pierced my left side nose when my mom seen my nose pierced leftside she shouted the goldsmith i told my mom i only asked to pierce left she got angry because in my family all are pierced rightside so she asked to pierce my nose on rightside also i cant open my mouth after piercing he inserted the stud on right then i asked to remove the left one, my mom said not to remove then again she bought one more stud and it has been fitted in leftnose by looking in the mirror it looks very nice to my nose so i kept quite we returned home my dad came late night that day i showed my studs he shouted my mom (since i was 15) why u done bothside i said to my dad doesnt matter it look nice for me ,my dad its ok on u but i will make your mom to give company to u i went to my room and started laughing with pain the very next day myself my mom and dad went to the same goldsmith and my moms other side nose pierced so in my family we both are double studed .On third day i went to school with two studs my class teacher admires at my face and said double studs are very qute for me and she said not to remove at any cost i shaked my head ok due to her encouragement still iam wearing now nearly more than 8 years iam in south chennai

மூக்கணாங்கயிறு பற்றி இப்போ எதுக்கு பதிவு என்று யோசிக்கிறீர்களா? நம்ம ரஞ்சனிம்மா ”மூக்குத்திப் பூ” என்ற தலைப்பில் அவர்களுடைய மலரும் நினைவுகளை, ஒரு பதிவாக பகிர்ந்திருந்தார்கள். இதுவரை படிக்காதவங்க படிச்சுட்டு வாங்க. அதை படித்ததும், ”நான் ரொம்ப நாளாக எழுத வேண்டும் என்று நினைத்திருந்த விஷயமாச்சே!” என்று தோணவே உடனே எழுதலாம் என்று முடிவெடுத்து விட்டேன். நம்ம வரலாறு எப்பவுமே பெரிசுங்க!

எங்கப்பா மூக்கணாங்கயிறு போட்டாத் தான் மாடு அடங்கும். அது போல் மூக்கு குத்தினால் தான் நீயும் அடங்குவே என்று மிரட்டுவார். அப்போதெல்லாம் அப்பா மேல் கோபமாக வரும். அப்போது என்ன இப்போவும் தான். ஆனால் கோபத்தை காட்டத் தான் அப்பா இல்லை. சரி மேலுலகில் இருக்கும் அவரை எதுக்கு வம்புக்கு இழுக்க வேண்டும்…

மூக்கு நீளமாக இருப்பதால் அழகாக இருக்கும், அந்தந்த வயதில் குத்தினால் தான் எளிதாக இருக்குமென்றும் பல காரணங்களை சொல்லி என்னுடைய பத்தாம் வயதில், அதாவது நான் ஐந்தாம் வகுப்பு முடிந்து முழுபரீட்சை விடுமுறையில் சிவகங்கைக்கு சென்ற போது மூக்கு குத்தும் படலத்தை நடத்தினார்கள். பாட்டி (அப்பாவின் அம்மா) ஐந்து பேத்திகளுக்கும் மாங்காய் பிஞ்சு மூக்குத்தி வாங்கித் தந்தார். தங்கத்தில் மாங்காய் போன்ற மூக்குத்தியில் முத்து பதித்தது. மாமா வீட்டில் ஆசாரியை வர வைத்து நல்ல நேரத்தில் மூக்கு குத்தி விட்டனர்.

விடுமுறை முடிந்து கோவைக்கு வந்து பள்ளி சென்று கொண்டிருந்தேன். பள்ளியில் ஏதோ விளையாடும் போது கையை முகத்துக்கு குறுக்கே கொண்டு வரும் சமயம் வளையல் மூக்குத்தியில் மாட்டி இழுத்து விட்டேன் போலிருக்கிறது. வலியோ உயிர் போகிறது. எல்லோரும் இரத்தம் வருவதாக சொல்ல, மாலையில் வீட்டுக்கு வந்து அம்மாவிடம் காண்பித்தால் அம்மாவும் பயப்படுகிறார். எதிர் வீட்டு மல்லிகாம்மாவிடம் (இவரை பற்றி முன்பே எழுதியிருக்கிறேன்) காண்பித்தேன். அவர் தான் பொறுமையாக அமர்ந்து தண்டு பாதி உடைந்த நிலையில் இருந்த மூக்குத்தியை (கழட்டி எடுக்கவும் முடியாத நிலையில் இருந்தது) பார்த்து முழுதும் உடைத்து எடுத்து விட்டார். இரத்தத்தை துடைத்து தேங்காய் எண்ணெய் வைத்து ஓட்டை அடைந்து போகாமல் இருக்க வேப்பிலை குச்சியை சொருகி விட்டார்.
தூக்கத்தில் குச்சியும் எங்கோ விழுந்து விட மீண்டும் போட்டுக்க மாட்டேன் என்று அடம் பிடித்து வெற்றி கண்டேன். (இப்போ என் மகள் எதற்கு அடம் பிடித்தாலும் எனக்கு கோபம் வருகிறது. அம்மா பாவம்!) ஓட்டையும் அடைந்து விட்டது. புண் ஆறியதும் எத்தனையோ முறை அம்மா மூக்கு குத்திக் கொள்ள அழைத்த போதும் போக மறுத்து சண்டை போட்டு வெற்றியும் கண்டேன். விதி வலியது! விட்டதா என்னை?

பத்தாம் வகுப்பில் எதிர் வீட்டு சின்ன குழந்தை அக்‌ஷய்க்கு (இப்போ எங்கு இருக்கிறானோ!) முதல் பிறந்த நாள் வந்தது. ஆயுஷ்ஹோமம் செய்து வீட்டிலேயே ஆசாரியை வர வைத்து காது குத்தினார்கள். அழுகையோ அழுகை. அவனை சமாதானம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தேன். அடுத்து நானும் அழப்போவது தெரியாமல்…. :)

I love my nose stud because it comes with always and any where i got my double nose pierced at the same time with needle and thread when i was 12 year girl from that time i recomand all my friends to follow me now i got 23 friends with double nose piercing iam having good response from one side nose stud wearing ladies those who not pierced womans also realising that they are missing the chance of wearing nose stud mine was done due to my mom because she had double nose stud she seems to be very enchanting personality with 8 stone in left and 5 stone in right i had never seen her with studs except during oil bath so i asked her from my 6th age to pierce my nose twosides at the of 12 she took me to our neighbour house in the morning in summer an old lady asked me are u willing to get two sides i said at anycost she took a needle and thread with 4 foldings she asked me close my eyes while the needle is pressed i jumped very high she told my mom to wait outside then she took a rope and tied my legs togethor and my hands back in a bamboo post i dont know what to say because she is unknown to atpresent i told her to pierce withless pain she pierced my rightside slowly and tied the thread she asked me oneside is enough i said i want similar like my mom she laughed at me and she pierced my left nose mine finished with tears twice in one day then my mom came inside her eyes got tears her loving daughter tied in apost with pierce and tears i said iam happy i asked her i need two single stone stud for me she bought me 1 red and 1white which adds my face more charm and my friends got same type of piercing with the same old lady

Hello, I need your valued opinions and advice if a boy can wear traditional multi-studded mukkuthis (nose studs) to collge here in the US? I noticed a few young men on campus wearing nose pins, and here is some background about me... Being in a orthodox family, I was made to wear earrings since I was 1-year old. I also had long hair as a tuft or one or two plaits as was the custom. In fact, my mom used to dress me up as a girl on festival days like navarathri or janmashtami, with pattu-pavadai (silk dress), dangling ear drops, bangles, anklets and all that. When I was about 7 years old, she took me to her native village dressed like that, and many aunts thought I was a girl. One of the aunts took me to the temple, and on the way back she stopped at the goldsmith to pick some jewels. She chatted with him looking at me, and he suggested a mukkuthi will look very pretty on this girl. My aunt asked me if want to wear one, and I said ok without knowing there was piercing involved. She had the goldsmith pierce my right nose, and put a gold pin right there. When my mom saw this, she was first upset, but realized it was her mistake in the first place. Since it looked good on me, she made me wear a nose stud all the time, changing it to a nose screw with a single red stone after some six months. I wore it all the time during 12 years at school, and being an orthodox school, it wasn't an issue and I had no inhibitions or fear. Around 14 years of age, my mom started me on wearing grandma's besari (5-diamond nose stud in triangle shape - one stone on top vertex, and other 4 dangling below), as well as her vaira thodu (7-diamond earrings), mattal and jmikki, dressed in half-saree during festival days. I got used to the jewelry, and loved the experience and people around me liked it. During college in India I had to remove earrings and the red nose stud, and even had my hair cut. Wearing any jewelry was restricted to home on festival days or holidays.

hi iam in double nose pierced group when i was 13 i got my nose pierced along with my two sisters,one day an old lady came to my house she asked my mom why your daughter noses are not pierced, my mom said yet to pierce then the lady asked my mom that she will pierce without getting any money so mom insisted to pierced all three of us. my elder sister first sat in front of her she took a needle and inserted a thread of four foldings my sister got shivering, my self and my mom holdng my sisters hand tightly when the lady starts piercing my sister jumped so the lady got angry and she asked my mom to get a rope and she tied my sisters hands back to a post and two legs togethor and she asked my mom to hold the face after she pierced my sisters nose two sides and the threads are tied after finishing the rope is removed my sister started crying since she wants one side alone but my mom told it will be diffficult to pierce during the marriage because my mom second nose pierced on marriage itself next my second sister got in same method at last myself she asked to show my hands backside and tied togethor i told not to tie my legs but she said nothing harm just for 10 minutes by telling she tied my legs and she asked me still u r young u want one side or two sides i said two because my two sisters will get two studs for that only i need two she said very good i will do yours slowly and she pierced mines gently i got tears my mom wiped my tears and said all were looking very beautiful because she pierced in exact position my mom gave some cash and fruits .At 23rd age i got married my mil likes me very much since iam the only dil among the three who got double nose studs she bought me 8 stone besthri and thalluku mookuthi in diamond she herself removed my single stone and inserted the new one. my sil asked her mom to get one for her but my mom insisted she will get two if she is ready to pierce two sides in this matter iam very comfortable with my husband and my mil both likes me that much .Iam wearings the 8 stones from 2009.

This may not be correct. In South India, the tradition has been to wear it in right nose primarily or alternatively in both noses and in North India, it has been the left.
