when i was about to get married my mum insisted on me to pierce my nose. but i strongly refused to do so,thinking of piercing pain.as my mum forced twice i retarded five times more not to pierce. seeing the fight between us, my grandma came to me and taked to me. she told that all sumangali (lady with husband) must wear 5 ornaments for the welfare and longlive of her husband. the five ornaments are
earstud
nosestud
thali
bangals and
metti (worn in toe finger)

she told that these ornaments will bring all goodness to her and family.as a hindu custom, a girl must wear all these simple ornaments for the welfare of the family.

my grandmas words repeatedly ring over my ears.my grandma gave confidene that she will be with me at the time of piercing and pray god for my goodnees.
these words gave me courage and i accepted for piercing.on one auspicious day grandma took me to the jwellery shop .she took me to the acchari sat close to me holding my hands tightly asked the man to pierce.he pieced and put stud on onesde.she asked me to show the otherside of nose also for piercing . i showed as per her request without speaking a word. second nostril was also pieced .i found no pain at all.the pain was within tolerable limit.
i loked mirror to see the nose studs in my nose.i felt high joy and satisfaction of my nose piercing. i was very proud of my cute nose piercing and thanked grandma for that

என் மனைவி வெகு நாளாக மூக்கு குத்தாமல் இருந்தார் திருமணத்திற்கு ஆறு மாதத்திற்கு முன்பு தான் மூக்கு குத்து கொண்ட விஷயத்தை சொன்னா ஏன் என்று கேட்டேன் என் பாட்டி தான் சுமங்கலி என்ன மூக்குத்தி போட்டு இருக்கணும் திருமணம் நடக்கப் இருப்பதால் இப்போதே குத்திக் கொள் என்றார் நானும் சரி என்று குத்திக் கொண்டேன் அவர்கள் சொல்வதும் சரிதான் நீங்கள் மூக்குத்தி போட்டு இருந்தால் தான் கணவனின் ஆயுள் கெட்டி ஆகும் நானும் மூக்குத்தி பற்றிய விஷயத்தை அதிகம் படித்தேன் உங்களுக்கு பிடித்திருக்கிறதா என்று கேட்டா நான் ரெண்டு மூக்குத்தி போட்டு இருந்தா கூட தான் எனக்கு பிடிக்கும் என்று அப்படி என்றால் வாங்க இப்பவே நான் குத்திக்கிறேன் என்றாள் அவளை இடத்தை கூட்டிக்கொண்டு போய் ஒரு மூக்குத்தி வாங்கி அவளது இடது முகத்திலும் ஒத்துக் கொண்டா அவளின் வெகுளித்தளம் எனக்கு பிடித்தது நாளை மகாராணி போல் பார்த்துக் கொண்டேன்

actually Your Parents Corrected their mistake of not piercing your Nose in young age. So please wear Double nise studs with proud. And It will enhance your image too n you will get Nice Marriage proposals too. Don't be shy at all , as its very much common.

My name is agalya, from chennai. I just now completed my bsc and awaiting for my marriage. Last week we went to village for a function. Everyone gathered in my grandparents house. Long before my granny was forcing me to do nose piercing for me however I escaped every time saying any reason.But this time I couldn't do that.She didn't accept my words and was determined to put mookuthi for me as I'm the only granddaughter for her.Everyone in my family was forcing and convincing me but I didn't agree. Atlast my appa said I will be getting my piercing soon even though I'm not ready.He said they will do it against my will hence I will be marrying soon. My mom also said as a tamil girl it is compulsory for me to do nose piercing before marriage. It was decided the very next day I ll be getting my mookuthi. Being single I couldn't fight against them so finally I gave up. Next day the village piercer came. I was decorated well and I was made to sit down. I asked my mom to show me the nose stud but she denied.She said only after I should see. I slowly started to cry. My little nose was marked on right side. He also marked my left nose. I was taken back. I started questioning why he marking both sides however my grandma asked him to continue.My hands was holded tight. My mom said everything they do is for my good. She asked me to stay quiet and get it done. My granny holded my head tight. I could see two big size mokkuthies awaiting to adorn my little nose. The piercer hand approached me. He kept the nneedle on my right nose positioned it and pierced forcely. I could feel a sharp pain and I burst out crying. My right nose was adorned with besari mookuthi. He screwed me the mookuthi tightly without concerning about my cry. In a similar way he pierced my left side nose. I could feel the weight of the mookuthies heavily. I could see everyone were rejoiced to see me. My granny was so happy. She told I'm looking so good and kissed me. I was shouting and crying at my dad for putting rettai mokkuthi for me without my concern. I am very angry with everyone for doing this. Still now I didn't speak with anyone.

My aunty removed my earings and replaced old one and she herself pierced my ears each side three studs added i said today its enough she accepted for ears its ok then she pulled my septum and gently pierced and inserted ring with stone model bullack and pressed the ring together with plier its 12gm weight i said its too heavy she laughed and said i am too lucky to get such nice item next day morning i showed my face to my mom she cant believe how its possible in one night i said all by my aunty next week my ears will get three more

yesturday my aunty came to stay with us she liked my nose stud ans sujjusted to wear on both side i showed my left nose with broom stick on seeing she shouted why you not using the stud on bith side she looks like poor girl wear stick i gave the stud bought for me she herself placed in my nose flipped my wing and tightened the inner thread and pressed my nose. 6 times my nose became red atlast she said not to remove its looking great like me since she got two studs in her nose from childhood my mom kept quite because her opinion fully disolved now i am decorated my nose its glows my face my aunty says my woodbee is lucky to get both nose pierced young girl i laughed loudly

i got stud in right nose and broom stick in left nose because my mom says i can use after my marriage because if my husband not interested in big stud on both nose my sorrow will make me dull so my mom said one stud is enough now my marriage date fixed next month on my first night my nose will be noticed by my husband that time i will show my broom stick and get his opinion my ear top was puerced flap is not pierced my mom said my nose looks nice with both studs she too got an idea of piercing left side

how you managed to pierce both nose when your mother is wearing single stud on single side ? what was her reaction to your nose piercing ? how your friends and relatives reacted to Traditional look ?? are you wearing permanently both side big studs ? have you got extra ear piercing to wear ear ornaments given by your grandma ? are Married or single till now ?

i too got my both nose pierced at 15 due to my grandma request she ordered same model like her studs its strong with thick stem and big inner stud i can feel the weight its 14 stone each around 10 gm each but my mom got single stone on right side alone
my grandma presented all her jewls ear tops flap extra studs bangles all because of obeying her words for wearing studs in both nose
