Swimming with nose pierce

by Abby
(Australia)

Hey :)
I really want to get my nose pierced, but I am a bit unsure due to my plans for the next little while.
I have just finished school so I will soon be training to get my Scuba Diving License's. Which, obviously, means swimming in water, which sometimes may not be the cleanest.
Is it worth me getting it done or will I just need to take it out to persue my diving career?
Thank you in advance :)
~ Abby

We recommend staying away from swimming pools, as you will raise your risk of a nose piercing infection. If you enjoy swimming, go ahead and take a dip. You must, however, limit your time in a chlorinated or ozone-treated pool. If your favorite swimming place is the ocean or a natural waterway, avoid swimming after a heavy rain-storm water runoff contains bacteria and parasites that can cause problems. You should cover your piercing with a small piece of hypoallergenic tape.
