Red bump occurs after new stud inserted

Hey I have had my nose piercing for 6 months and bought a surgical steel stud, but every time I insert a new stud, whether its L-shaped or has that little ball at the end the red bump comes out after a day. I want to know if this might get better or if means that I'm allergic to the studs?

Unfortunately I did with a gun, but had no problems with it and nothing was uncomfortable as described on this site.
