nose strip dilemma!!!

Will it be possible for me to use a blackhead clearing strip if i have my nose pierced? I know i will need to take it out but i'm wondering if it will be entirely safe to use the strip and wheter it will irritate the skin. My nose was pierced about five months ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
