How long should you cleaned your nose piercing? 6 weeks? 8 weeks? 12 weeks?

How long should you clean nose piercing
by: Linda Mansfield

I had my nose pierced 3 weeks ago and realise how lucky Ive been as I havent had a days trouble with it. In fact it feels completely healed although it probably isnt. Even when I knock it it doesnt hurt. I lost the original stud after 5 days, it fell out and I couldnt find it so had to replace it with a white gold crystal. It feels fine but I will say Im still bathing with sea salt twice a day. Saw my piercer a couple of days ago and he said bathe it for 12 weeks although I could cut it down to once a day after a couple of months.

Oh and I forgot to mention Im 60 years old! I had one done about 10 years ago and had constant trouble with it so let it heal. This has been completely different. I think the secret is keeping it clean and dry.

Happy piercing! x
