nose piercing ring

i pierced my nose 2 days ago myself and i had an earring in it and i was took it out yesterday and tried to put a right kind of screw nose ring in it and couldn't get it in so i put the earring back in and today i tried again and dropped and lost the earring and the hole hasn't shut and i tried to put another earring in and it stung so it took it out but does it mean anything that the hole hasnt shut?
