my 18 year old daughter has had her nose piercing

my 18 year old daughter has had her nose piercing for 2 years and has off and on nose reddening. She just got off an antibiotic a week ago for mrsa on her elbow and she called to tell me her nose ring is red. Is there a connection or am I just freaking out. I told her to clean it with the hibacleanse they gave her for the mrsa and put the bactrim cream on it. Do you think its to harsh for the nose? Thanks Kathy
