Just got my nose pierced

the inner screw of the stud itself is way to big and is bothering my inner nose, the piercer told me it had to be bigger and i could change it in 6 weeks, but this is really starting to bother me becasue it keeps hanging out and from constantly pushing it back up in causes to much friction, HELP ME?? can i cut it a little?
