Closed up :(

I have had my nose pierced for almost 2 years. It has always given me trouble and got infected easily. This week, my stud fell out and got lost and I couldn't get to another one for 1.5 days. Now, I can't seem to get the piercing back in. Has it really closed this fast? What should I do? I hear re-piercing through scar tissue is a lot more painful (and I thought it hurt the first time!). Should I do it myself? Should I go back to a piercer? Help!
