Changing my Nose stud

So I've had my nose pierced for 3 days but I want to get a new nose stud because I'm afraid that the ring I'm wearing right now isn't a 14k gold. Should I wait or change it ASAP? I know you're suppose to wait 2 to 3 months to change it but I don't want that black stuff appearing around my piercing. Help!! Please!
